The Mountain View-based genome sequencing company (NASDAQ:GNOM) is giving the winning applicants complete human genome sequencing of eight genomes — with two winners from the United States and two from Europe.
Applications are due by July 29, with winners to be notified Aug. 12 and required to submit samples by Sept. 16.
“We designed this grant program to recognize and reward those scientists who are developing innovative cancer research projects,” said Complete Genomics CEO Dr. Clifford Reid in a prepared statement. “We are delighted to have the opportunity to provide pioneering scientists with complete human genome sequencing and research-ready data that they can immediately use to gain insights into the characterization and possible treatment of various cancers.”
